This HeartCode® ACLS and HeartCode® BLS course are taught in a blended learning format. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is designed to highlight the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. Airway management and related pharmacology are also covered. Basic ECG rhythm identification is reviewed as it pertains to ACLS algorithms and treatment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is designed to provide healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children to help improve outcomes. The course uses a scenario-based, team approach to teach pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching, or already in, respiratory or cardiac arrest.
