This HeartCode® ACLS and HeartCode® PALS courses are taught in a blended learning format.  Students must complete the online portion prior to attending the hands-on skills session of their choice which is conducted by a Health First instructor at our Training Center location.  The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. Successful completion of the course results in the issuance of the American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard and PALS Provider eCard evidencing this accomplishment.

Included in this purchase are (i) eLearning.Heart.org course keycodes for ACLS and PALS, (i) in-person skills session, and (i) e-textbooks (in the course modules).

Description

Audience: Advanced Cardiovasular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is designed to provide education to a wide variety of healthcare students, medical professionals, EMS, an other personnel in healthcare occupations where these trainings are required. Initial or renewal ACLS & PALS students may take this course.

Online course duration: Approximately 6 to 12 hours per course, depending on the level of proficiency.

Hands-On Skills Class duration:  Approximately 5 hours for the in-person portion with a 30 minute break.

What is included and covered: (1) a Key Codes for the American Heart Association HeartCode® PALS and HeartCode® PALS Online course which are self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Pediatric Advanced Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance and (2) A separate psychomotor skills assessment using voice assisted manikins with real-time audio and visual feedback and a skills assessment with a Health First Instructor.

Prerequisites:  Must have completed American Heart Association HeartCode® ACLS and HeartCode® PALS online AND have your Certificate of Completions with the certificate numbers presented at the start of class along with proof of a current BLS certification card.  If you need to renew your BLS, you can add both the online course and Hands-On Skills Session at checkout.

Completion card:  American Heart Association ACLS and PALS Provider eCards are issued immediately at the end of the Hands-On skills session; eCards are valid for two years.
