Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is designed to highlight the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. Airway management and related pharmacology are also covered. Basic ECG rhythm identification is reviewed as it pertains to ACLS algorithms and treatment. Skills are taught in group sessions and small breakout sessions that include testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
Audience: Healthcare students, medical professionals, EMS, and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other Advanced Cardiovasular Life Support (ACLS) for working in a wide variety of in hospital and pre-hospital settings where this training is required.
Prerequisites: Must have completed American Heart Association HeartCode® ACLS online AND have your Certificate of Completion with the certificate number presented at the start of class along with proof of a current BLS certification card. If you need to renew your BLS, you can add both the online course and Hands-On Skills Session at checkout.
Class duration: Up to 3 hours for the in-person portion.
Completion card: American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard is issued immediately at the end of the in-person skills session; eCard is valid for two years.
