Description
The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
Audience: This class is intended for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies, and personnel in emergency response. This may include physicians, nurses, paramedics, physician assistants, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, etc.
Prerequisites:
- ACLS, students must present a current (non-expired) ACLS Provider certification card.
- Students must complete the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and bring their results to class.
- AHA also requires students to purchase the current ACLS Provider Manual or ACLS Provider E-Book and bring it to class. If these prerequisites are not met, students may have to reschedule.
- Students must also have basic ECG interpretation skills. ECG analysis is not taught in this class. The AHA ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment will provide an evaluation of your skills. If you need help with ECG interpretation, please contact us for private tutoring sessions.
Class duration: Up to 3-6 hours for the in-person portion.
Completion card: American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard is issued immediately at the end of the in-person skills session; eCard is valid for two years.
